Joaquin Buckley is preparing for a dangerous fight with Antonio Arroyo at UFC Vegas 37.
UFC middleweight Joaquin Buckley is ready for anything ahead of his bout with Antonio Arroyo at UFC Vegas 37.
It’s a massive fight for Buckley, who is looking to get back on track in the division after a brutal knockout against Alessio Di Chirico earlier this year. During his UFC Vegas 37 pre-fight press conference, Buckley explained his mindset ahead of his Fight of the Night contender against Arroyo.
“I expect a fight. Point blank,” Buckley said. “He’ll come out hard and heavy in the first round, but if he doesn’t do that, I’ll man-hunt. We’ll come after him. Either way, it’s a good fight coming.”
“All of these guys are dangerous, I know he’s going to come out and give it his all. But I’m ready to let the world know what’s up.”
Buckley and Arroyo share a lot of similarities in their approaches in the octagon. Both like to come forward and push the pace, which sets up a potentially wild fight at UFC Vegas 37.
Joaquin Buckley remains a potential dark horse in the UFC’s middleweight division
Buckley joined the UFC last year after brief tenures at Legacy and Bellator, in which he showcased his trademark striking and ability to finish the fight at any moment. His UFC debut didn’t exactly go as planned as he lost to Kevin Holland by third-round knockout at UFC Vegas 6.
If Buckley can put on a show-stopping performance against Arroyo, he could get right on track to a potentially deep run in the middleweight division.
